I'm offering this free open Zoom call each Wednesday in response to a need I've heard women from around the world express for safe spaces online in which they can experience a moment of calm reflection and contemplation in community with other women. As we are all Fletcher alum, we convene through the shared conection.
We will gather through Zoom to engage first in a calming meditative and/or mindfulness exercise and then we will contemplate a topic each week. The topic will be a word, a phrase, or a question that I'll share with the group. Each woman will bring her experiences, expertise, culture, background, and beliefs to the word. She will reflect on it to herself and share insights with the group, in her journal, or with herself. She is welcome to engage however she feels comfortable. Women can join with their videos on or off, and their names noted or anonymously. Each woman will take away an insight, a piece of wisdom, or a message that she can apply to her moments that follow.
We will gather each Wednesday at 6:30amEST. I will send the Zoom login information to all registrants via email in advance of the gathering.
My name is Whitney Ortiz, and I live in Washington, DC. I graduated from Fletcher in 2003. I'm a certified stress relief, mindfulness, and well-being coach and consultant for women around the world. My career post-Fletcher was in international development. Due to personal life changes, I experienced profound shifts, which led me to start a non-profit in loving memory of one of my daughters and this Whole Health Self-Care platform. I ask that you come with an open mind and heart, ready to be fully present. Each participant should be kind, respectful, and compassionate towards the others and hold in confidence the information that's shared.
Each participant will hold space for the others and lean into the messages that flow. You may "pick up" a message that resonates with you...a piece of wisdom you were meant to hear or an answer to a question you've been pondering. You can then apply it to your moments that follow.
